More About Willliam Smith MSW, LCSW
I have dedicated my career to the pursuit of providing the citizens of Georgia with the highest quality mental health and family advocacy services.
I am a founding partner of The Atlanta Marriage and Mediation Clinic, a private practice that specializes in conflict navigation, couples counseling, divorce counseling, parenting and coparenting counseling, forensic services, and formal and informal mediation. I also serve as the Executive Director of Greater Atlanta Family Counseling, where I have treated children, teens, couples, and families since 2016.
As a mediator, I primarily focus on the initial negotiation or re-negotiation of child custody agreements, divorce mediation, and other types of civil and family mediation. I also offer mediation preparation consulting.
As a therapist, my clinical interests lie at the intersections of marriage and family therapy, PTSD, attachment psychology, child development, and forensics.
I am a Level 3 Gottman Certified Marriage Therapist and a Certified EMDR therapist. I have also been trained extensively in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am Board Certified in Telemental Health (BC-TMH) and will happily meet with clients virtually if requested.
In addition to my work as a clinician and a mediator, I serve on the board for the Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work, and am also active in the Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives.
